Accreditor Placement Rate Methodology:

Placement Rate Percentage is determined by taking the number of student graduates employed in the field divided by the number of graduates available for employment.

Graduates Employed in the Field/Graduates Available for Employment = Employment Rate

(“Graduates Employed in the Field” divided by “Graduates Available for Employment” = “Employment Rate”)

Exclusions: Students graduates meeting any of the following conditions are excluded from the “graduates available for employment” calculation: (1) graduates that continue on with education in an accredited institution of higher education on at least a half-time basis; (2) graduates unavailable for employment due to the onset of a medical condition (3) graduates employed in jobs not related to the training obtained from the school’s program; (4) unemployed graduates; (5) graduates for which no information about employment or unemployment is available.

Employed in Field Classification Guidelines:

  • The employment classification is appropriate and reasonable based on the educational objectives of the program.
  • The employment is for a reasonable period of time, is based on program objectives, and can be considered sustainable (e.g., not a single day of employment).
  • The employment is directly related to the program from which the individual graduated, aligns with a majority of the educational and training objectives of the program, and is a paid position.
  • The employment classification is verified by the school.

State Placement Rate Methodology:

Placement Rate Percentage is determined by taking the number of student graduates employed in a related field and/or non-related field, are not employed but are attending school for related or non-related education, or are in the military divided by the number of graduates of the program.

Graduates Employed/Program Graduates = Employment Rate

(“Graduates Employed” divided by “Program Graduates” = “Employment Rate”)

Exclusions: Students graduates meeting any of the following conditions are excluded from the “graduates employed” calculation: (1) graduates not employed but seeking employment; (2) graduates not employed and not seeking employment; (3) graduates for which no information about employment or unemployment is available.

When were Former Students Employed?

Rates are based on: (1) students who started their program between the reporting dates; (2) graduate students employed for a reasonable period of time and considered sustainable (e.g., not a single day of employment).
