Job Training Coordinator (Choffin CTC)
Applicant must hold a valid Ohio Intervention Specialist (K-12) license with a Transition to Work (TTW) endorsement or be willing and eligible to apply for a supplemental (TTW) endorsement. In addition, the applicant must commit to completing appropriate coursework to obtain the TTW endorsement if not already held. Must have valid driver’s license and be willing to take district training to drive the school van.
The Job Training Coordinator provides support and assistance to students who require intensive support in order to transition from school to the work environment. Experience working with and coordinating community-based experiences areas such as a greenhouse, garden, landscape or other related type of for-profit, student-run activity is preferred.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to developing, implementing and delivering the instructional program to meet the needs of students in Special Education in order to prepare students to enter the workforce after high school or post-secondary education and/or training. Teaches training classes and manages a variety of training work crews daily as part of Transition to Work (TTW) and Job Training Program (JTC) opportunities for students with IEPs and/or 504 plans. Observes work crews as necessary and monitor quality of work performed by crews. Establishes, maintains, and promotes a classroom atmosphere, which ensures the emotional and physical safety of students and emphasizes mutual respect, self-worth, self-discipline, cooperation, consideration, and responsibility. Works closely with other staff members and outside agencies to manage student work hours, maintain existing work opportunities and create new work opportunities for students, and manage income and expenses related to work crews.
Follows and complies with all Special Education guidelines as outlined in the Ohio Operating Standards for the Education of Children with Disabilities.
Automotive Collision Teacher (Choffin CTC)
Shall possess or be eligible for a valid Career Tech and must have five years full time work experience with two years recent in the field of Collision Repair Technologies. ASE and/or iCar Certification preferred. Must be willing to take additional coursework through Kent State University to obtain Career Tech license if not already possessed.
Automotive Technology Teacher (Choffin CTC)
Shall possess or be eligible for a valid Career Tech and must have five years full time work experience with two years recent in the field of Automotive Technologies. ASE Certification preferred. Must be willing to take additional coursework through Kent State University to obtain Career Tech license if not already possessed.
Career Services Adviser (Choffin CTC)
Responsible for, but not limited to, career services functions and duties as they relate to providing career services to Choffin CTE students by building relationships with employers. This position is also responsible for providing counseling to our students on resume writing, interview techniques, dressing for success, and helping to coordinate transportation for Choffin CTE students to their place of employment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Builds effective relationships with local and regional corporations, non-profit and government organizations and community partners to identify employment opportunities and to promote qualified Choffin CTE students.
Make calls to hiring managers to generate interviews for graduates.
Completes telephone interviews and e-mail correspondence to prospective employers to determine their employment needs
Assists Choffin CTE students in securing employment in their field of training.
Provides career coaching, including seminars and workshops on interviewing techniques and other job search skills, training to students and alumni.
Ensures the up-to-date maintenance of the Tracker, documentation, reports and students records in accordance with school policies, government regulations and accreditation standards.
Effectively communicates compliance requirements to students and other staff as appropriate and quickly escalates any compliance concerns to Choffin administrative personnel.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Shall possess or be eligible for a valid Career Tech license and must have five years full time work experience with two years recent in the field of Engineering. Familiarity with Project Lead The Way curriculum preferred. Must be willing to take additional coursework through Kent State University to obtain Career Tech license if not already possessed.
