Position: Instructor – Animal Science / Pre-Veterinary

Grade Level: 11-12

Subject: Career Technical


1. Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science/Zoology preferred or related and 2 years recent full-time work experience in the field, or 5 years (2 years recent) full-time work experience in a related field (veterinary clinic experience preferred).

2. Must be able to develop classes and programs and instruct a variety of courses in Animal Science and Pre-Veterinary Science. Previous teaching experience is preferred but not required.

3. Must be willing to obtain Career Technical licensure and attend Kent State University to complete licensure requirements. Must be willing to attend required summer or other professional development.

4. Must be able to pass BCI/FBI background checks and drug screen Description: The teacher will facilitate the learning of the diverse field of animal science and identify all phases of animal production, research, sales, service, business, and education in which animal scientists may be involved. Animal sciences is planned to be a rigorous course in which students will not only learn a general understanding of animal anatomy, zoology, companion animal care, and general customer service.
