Exercise Science & Physical Therapy Tech
Students will study the core concepts from the fields of athletic and fitness training and Pre-Physical Therapy. Areas of emphasis include anatomy and physiology, athletic injuries, prevention, and rehabilitation, basic treatment and therapeutic methods, and personal wellness and nutritional coaching. Students who successfully complete the program can take exams to become Certified Personal Trainers through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and/or Physical Therapy Technicians through the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA).
Students in this program will learn:
- Human anatomy and physiology
- Health appraisal and fitness testing
- Exercise programming
- Nutrition and weight management
- Injury recognition and prevention
- Rehabilitation techniques and safety practices

Exercise Science & Physical Therapy Tech Higher Education Options
Students enrolled in Exercise Science need to take anatomy and physiology, preferably as juniors, as part of their college prep curriculum. Students may earn credit if they meet the post-secondary schools criteria, and requirements.
