Search Engines/Websites for Scholarships
1.GoingMerry.com Personalized matches, bundled scholarships, and recommendations, auto-fill options.
2. College Scholarship: Helps find scholarships by using a search engine
3. Fastweb.com: Fastweb, owned by parent company Monster.com, is also a free scholarship search provider with more than 1.5 million scholarships in its database.
4. Raise Me: Helps list achievements and unlock scholarships
5. JLV College Counseling: Jessica Velasco, a former admissions officer, started JLV College Counseling, which offers information on various scholarships. Velasco also posts scholarships every Saturday on her Facebook page with upcoming application deadlines. Via her blog, Velasco offers scholarships and college admissions tips and advice.
6. Scholar Snapp: Free, simple to use data standard that simplifies the application process.
7. Niche.com: Niche pairs students with scholarships that match their qualifications, with student-friendly categories like no-essay scholarships.
8.UNCF (United Negro College Fund) Scholarships: The United Negro College Fund, offers over 10,000 scholarships and 400 programs to students nationwide. The premiere scholarship organization, UNCF has served the community by providing scholarships to low income students since 1944. Although founded as a means to support African Americans in higher education, today UNCF supports students from all ethnic, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds.
9. Student Scholarship National Newsletter: Sends a monthly free newsletter and updates their website daily!
10. Scholarship America: Provides list of scholarships that are applicable for any students who are in the state they reside in (make sure to look for Ohio)
11. UNIGO: Explains scholarships and how to find scholarship opportunities
12. Your high school website, MCCTC and Home School: Don’t overlook your own high school’s website, which may have a list of local scholarships.
13. Community foundation website: Like your high school website, families should check local community foundations’ websites, which may also host a list of area scholarships.
14. College websites where you’re applying: Although not all schools award merit-based scholarships, those that do are very valuable because they’ll likely renew all four years.

- Choose Ohio First Scholarship Program Information: YSU FREE summer math program as well as $3000-$6400 scholarships for incoming students. YSU is incredibly proud of this program that has provided millions in scholarships to students seeking STEM degrees over the past 15 years. See the COFSP website for more information about the program and links to applications.

- November 1st, 2023 : OAASFEP Scholarship
- The purpose of the scholarship program is to financially support post-secondary education for qualifying high school seniors who are attending their first year of college at a college or university in the state of Ohio.
- January 10th, 2024: The 2024 Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) Scholarship
- JRF Scholars receive grants of up to $35,000 over four years to supplement the financial aid they receive from their colleges or universities. In addition, Scholars receive extensive support services, including career guidance, internship & permanent job placement, travel abroad, and leadership along with practical life skills training. You can also attend JRF’s annual four-day “Mentoring and Leadership Conference” in New York City and other regional events throughout the year.
- January 20th, 2024: Mahoning County bball Scholarship 2024 Mahoning Valley Basketball Officials Association Scholarship
- This is for any senior girl or boy basketball player in Mahoning County.
- February 1st, 2024: YSU Foundation Scholarship Application
- 620 scholarships are awarded after completing the application
- These scholarships are for YSU students only
- March 1st, 2024: 717 Credit Union Scholarships (Apply Here)

- University-Based Merit Scholarships for Youngstown State University, Kent State University- Main Campus & Kent State University Branches, and University of Akron are offered but have requirements. The requirements include: must be a member of 717 credit union, attending YSU, KSU or UA, have a 3.0 gpa, and need two recommendation letters
- Must be an edge club member at Seven Seventeen Credit Union
- Must be 18 years of age to apply for this scholarship
- Must have minimum of 3.0 gpa
- March 29th, 2024: The Susie E. Barnes Foundation (SEBF)

- Provides scholarships to African American youth living in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties
- Requires at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA
- Plan to pursue a four-year post- secondary degree or a two-year trade program
- The additional criteria is explained on the website
- March 31st, 2024: Ohio Gas Association Scholarship (Click for application)
- Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident
- Must have a career goal in the natural gas or related energy field
- Must be an OHIO resident attending, or planning to attend an accredited OHIO college, university, technical or trade school
- Must have and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher
