MCCTC May 27th Senior Awards Ceremony Information
We received your response to attend the Senior Awards Ceremony on May 27. The following is important information to remember. I know it is a lot, but every word is important to ensure your ceremony is the best it can under current conditions.
The following is a digital copy of the last-minute information you need concerning the day of the ceremony. (You will also be receiving this information in the mail.
You will receive a number to guide you through the ceremony. Please have your number displayed on your windshield as you enter the campus. It will make it much easier to get you where you need to be!
ALL OF THE FOLLOWING ARE IN KEEPING WITH BOARD OF HEALTH GUIDELINES AND WE MUST ALL FOLLOW THEM. Believe me, we have lots of rules too!!!
YOU WILL ONLY BE PERMITTED TO WALK DURING YOUR ACADEMY’S TIME SLOT.
ON THE 27TH:
- BE SURE TO BE IN YOUR CAP AND GOWN UPON ARRIVAL!!!
- Enter through the North Entrance to the campus (the ESC entrance; see the enclosed map).
- Once on campus, you will receive a packet that contains necessary items for the ceremony including:
- An index card with your name: YOU MUST CARRY THAT TO THE STAGE WITH YOU. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY YOUR NAME WILL BE READ.
- MCCTC Tassel for your cap
- STEM cord (if you were also a TWO YEAR STEM student)
- The contents of your passport
- *Both of those MUST be worn while you are walking until you reach the photo area. You will not be allowed on stage without them!!
Once on campus, you have to remain in your vehicle. Staff will lead you every step of the way to your designated parking spot (which will be clearly marked). ANY VEHICLE THAT REQUIRES MORE THAN A SINGLE PARKING SPACE WILL BE REDIRECTED TO AN ALTERNATIVE LOCATION AND YOU WILL LOSE YOUR PLACE IN WALKING. When it is your turn to proceed to the stage, you will have staff directing you when to exit your vehicle and how you need to proceed. THAT IS THE ONLY TIME YOU WILL BE PERMITTED TO LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE. EVERYONE ELSE MUST REMAIN INSIDE.
After you have picked up your passport binder on stage, you may go to the photo tent where two photos will be taken, one with your mask and gloves and one without.
Then you will return to your car until the other members of your academy have been recognized. When that is completed, the group will turn tassels and exit out of the South exit. NO ONE IS PERMITTED TO REMAIN ON CAMPUS AFTER THEIR ACADEMY IS RECOGNIZED.
We realize that this is a lot of information. Please know that EVERYONE from administrators, teachers, and staff have worked together tirelessly to meet the Department of Health non-negotiables to make your Awards Ceremony the best it could possibly be.
