Reopening Scenario Options

MCCTC & VALLEY STEM- PLANNING FOR SCHOOL

MCCTC & Valley STEM Administration have developed three options for returning in August based on possible scenarios. We continually monitor guidance from the Ohio Department of Education, the Ohio Department of Health, and the office of the Governor. As we move through the next month, we will continue to monitor the information provided by these organizations and will commit to the maximum allowable plan In early August. We are fortunate at MCCTC/Valley STEM that we have sufficient space, allowing us to consider multiple options while Incorporating best practices. We will evaluate based on the circumstances and conditions at that time, as well as the guidance we have received. We will continue to communicate with our stakeholders as we navigate our next steps. We have three scenarios based on the possible circumstances in August. Our priority is to safely educate our students while following protocol and direction from these organizations.

SCENARIO 1: RETURN FULLY TO FACETO-FACE INSTRUCTION {IDEAL}

  • Students return in-person using guidance regarding best practices from the Ohio Department of Health and other organizations
  • Implement social distancing practices to the fullest extent possible where required or recommended
  • Focus on physical, social, and emotional safety and well-being
  • Revamp safety plan and procedures to integrate recommended best practices/mandates
  • Industry input into safety protocol

SCENARIO 2: BLENDED /HYBRID LEARNING

  • Students spend a full day at school every-other-day to reduce the amount of students In one place (specific days will be discussed In August, If necessary)
  • On days when students are not here, they will be responsible for blended learning remotely, with our Instructors developing lessons and delivering Instruction
  • Students can receive additional In-person help on scheduled days (In-person days) from instructors
  • Implement guidance regarding best practices from the Ohio Department of Health and other organizations
  • Implement social distancing practices to the fullest extent possible where required or recommended
  • Focus on physical, social, and emotional safety and well-being
  • Revamp safety plan and procedures to integrate recommended best practices/mandates
  • Industry input Into safety protocol

SCENARIO 3: REMOTE LEARNING/FULLY ONLINE

  • Students participate in remote learning from home, designed and delivered by our instructors
  • A specific, consistent schedule will be followed with class start and end times
  • Consistent group lessons as well as individual assistance provided by our instructors
  • Focus on physical, social, and emotional safety and well-being
  • *This option will only be implemented if mandated

Variations of the scenarios may be Implemented if needed as conditions change over time. MCCTC/Valley STEM will adjust when/if guidelines and recommendations change.
