Course Description

The baby-boom population is aging and that means an increased demand for healthcare professionals that can work in many different settings - including extended care facilities, hospitals and physician practices.

According to the Bureau of Labor and Statistics, employment of Medical Assistants is projected to grow much faster than average - 23 percent through 2024! (Source: www.bls.gov )

MCCTC Adult Career Center provides the training you need to obtain entry-level employment in an array of healthcare settings with the ability to perform clinical and administrative tasks.

At MCCTC Adult Career Center you will train to be a Certified Medical Assistant and Certified Phlebotomist in less than 1 year!

The percentage for 2016 retention rate for the completion of the Medical Assistant program at Mahoning County Career and Technical Center is 80%.

The Medical Assistant program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs upon the recommendation of Medical Assistant Education Review Board (MAERB).
