MCCTC Orientation FAQ

Q: What are the hours of the school day?

A: 7:55-2:20

Q: Where do I park if I drive?

A: The “Student Parking” lot is located on the far right side of the first driveway (off of Palmyra Road) Parking permits are $5.00 and can be purchased after the first few weeks of school.

Q: Where do I drop off and pick up my child?

A: All drop-offs occur at Door #1 (Front of the building) STEM pick-ups occur in the driveway next to the Greenhouse. MCCTC pick-ups in Door #1(pull in the 1st driveway and out the middle)

Q: What door do I enter?

A: Door #1

Q: Where do I go if I get dropped off early to school?

A: You should enter Door 1 and report to the cafeteria.

Q: Is breakfast available?

A: Yes, in the cafeteria.

Q: How will I get my ID badge?

A: All students will have a designated date and time for this once the school year starts.

Q: Where will the bus pick me up and drop me off?

A: The bus will pick you up in the front of the building (you can exit Doors 1,2,3 or 4) and drop you off at Door #1 (front of the building).

Q: What happens if STEM/MCCTC start earlier in the year than my home district?

A: You follow the STEM/MCCTC calendar (included in packet). Your home school will always provide transportation when we are in session, the only exception would be for “snow days.” This would apply to “Home School” waiver days or variations in Holiday” vacations as well.

Q: (For new students) When will I get my chromebook?

A: Within the first couple of weeks of school, staff will hand them out.

Q: What do I do if I am free and reduced?

A: Free and reduced students should make sure the on-line form is filled out. Once approved this takes care of your fees for the year.

Q: What do the $100 yearly school fees pay for?

A: The fee covers the usage of equipment, youth club membership, testing/credentials, technology, technology support, internet, supplies, and a “one-time” Chromebook (meaning you get one Chromebook for the two years you are in STEM/MCCTC)

Q: What do I do if I need to call my child off of school?

A: Call the school @ 330-729-4000 For MCCTC students press 4 For STEM students press 7

Q: How can I get into seeing the School Counselor?

A: Access the MCCTC website use the following web address: www.mahoningctc.com Once there, click on “Guidance” and then select “Request to Visit School Counselor”

Q: When will I get a locker?

A: This will occur during the first few days of school.
