Cosmetology
Study the diverse field of Cosmetology by learning Hair Care, Skin Care, and Nail Care. Students will also learn the business of beauty while operating their student-run salon. Students on good standing will also have the opportunity to participate in an industry-related internship to obtain 150 of their required 1500 hours. Upon completion of their hours, students are eligible to take the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology and Barber Board licensure exam to obtain their Cosmetology License. This license will allow them to work in the various jobs available to them in the beauty industry.

- Hair care: styling techniques; hair cutting/clipper cuts; hair coloring,
- Nail care: artificial and natural nail applications,
- Skin care: hair removal; facials; body treatments,

Cosmetology Industry Credentials
All qualified students will go through a mock state board exam at MCCTC prior to their Columbus state board exam for licensing in the state of Ohio. Students who complete all 1500 required hours are eligible for the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology Licensure Exam before graduation. The Ohio State Board of Cosmetology License is worth 12 credits. Students will also become OSHA Certified (1 credit.)
