The engineering program is focused on preparing students for the rigors of college by teaching valuable skills in problem solving and critical thinking while using real world issues and problem based learning strategies. Students will gain the technical skills used to test, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and systems. Instruction includes a blend of lecture and laboratory experiences, which emphasize applying engineering knowledge to the solution of problems. This program prepares the student for work as both an engineer and an engineering technician. While engineering focuses on the theory and analysis of the design, engineering technology focuses on the application and implementation of design. An engineering technician will work in the design, drafting, development, testing and production of engineering projects. Science, math and communication skills are crucial to success in this program.
